Murray is an existential psychotherapist and a psychosexual psychotherapist, with an MA from Regents University and a London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship therapy. He works integratively with both individuals and couples to resolve sexual and relationship problems. Murray is currently undertaking a Phd looking at the phenomenology of male sexuality and how it affects sexual performance and embodied perception.
Vanessa specialises in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This is a direct and targeted therapy, with the focus on practical skills, which enable clients to tackle their own problems and harness their own resources. CBT has been shown to be effective in treating many conditions, from depression and anxiety disorders to chronic fatigue and eating disorders.
Vanessa is an accredited member of BABCP, the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies and an accredited member of BACP, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Her qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Julia is a UKCP registered psychotherapist and counsellor and a registered member of BACP. She works integratively which involves an understanding that each client has unique needs indicating different ways of working at different times and she draws on a combination of approaches to help individuals explore and improve their personal and working lives.
Julia sees clients in Letchworth and Welwyn whilst also working as a psychological therapist within the NHS and in higher education as a university counsellor. She brings experience from her previous career as a lawyer working with issues concerning the family, ageing and mental health.
Tom is a qualified, UKCP accredited psychotherapist, working with a pluralistic approach. He is also trained in Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor, which is a body based psychotherapy. Prior to training as a psychotherapist, Tom worked in industry and marketing and ran his own manufacturing business for over 30 years. His particular area of interest is how the experiences of formative years can shape ways of perceiving, and being, in the world today. Often experiences that did not validate our true nature show up later in life as anxiety, depression, feelings of shame and self-destructive tendencies. Tom’s practice is based in Croxley Green, Hertfordshire where there is free parking and nearby access to the London Underground. The rooms are on a well-lit shopping street with a coffee shop nearby.
Maritsa is a qualified Counselling Psychologist who is registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) as well as with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). She has worked both within the UK and in South Africa.
Maritsa works within an Integrative Model, drawing upon various models and techniques which best suit each clients' individual needs, thereby individualising treatment to what works best for a client and their presenting issues.
Maritsa offers a full counselling service seeing both children and adults in a warm and non-judgmental space, seeing clients both short and long term depending on their needs.
Individualised therapy is offered in the following areas: scholastic, ADHD, divorced parents and step-families, adjustment problems, grief/bereavement, anxiety, depression, trauma/crisis intervention and general wellbeing. Nicola is a qualified psychosexual and relationship therapist. Nicola’s therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on principles of person-centred counselling, along with gestalt and systemic therapy approaches. Her areas of special interest include attachment, emotionally focused couples therapy, voice dialogue, mindfulness and family systems. Nicola has a strong interest in helping couples and individuals with sexual and relationship issues to overcome problems by creating a safe space to explore complex feelings, and develop communication skills and better understanding. Nicola also works in private practice in London and Cambridge and runs relationship workshops for couples and individuals.
Dan is a qualified general counsellor and psychosexual and relationship therapist. He is a member of both BACP and COSRT. Dan’s therapeutic approach is humanistic. He works with both individuals and couples, helping them overcome barriers and belief systems to get to a more authentic and happier place in their lives. Dan has extensive experience working with addiction, sexual concerns, anxiety and stress amongst other areas. He blends person-centred counselling with CBT techniques and existentialism. Dan has a background in healthcare communications. He is based in Bricket Wood (between Watford and St Albans).
Verity is a qualified Therapeutic Coach and Human Givens Psychotherapist and she will complete a diploma in Couples and Relationship Therapy in May 2016. Verity uses a variety of different coaching and therapy models to offer brief, solution-focused therapy.
Verity works with individuals and adolescents to help them to feel happier and/or calmer and more in control of their life and to make life changes by overcoming any personal blocks that are getting in the way of achieving desired goals. She also works with couples and individuals who wish to overcome relationship and sexual difficulties.
Kirstie is a registered member of BACP and a general member of COSRT. In addition to being a general therapist she is a qualified Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist.
Kirstie utilises an Integrative approach, drawing on her awareness of various therapeutic modalities and adapting these to suit the individual client's need. She works with individuals and couples whatever their sexuality or gender.
Kirstie is registered with Pink Therapy and has undertaken additional training in working with the essentials of gender and sexual diversity. She has personal and comprehensive knowledge of the transgender community and is aware that transgendered people deal with the same day-to-day problems as everyone else irrespective of their specific transgender needs. She is also aware of the issues that family and friends of transgendered people face and believes that her own experience in this area will be of benefit to others.
Jo is an accredited counsellor registered with BACP. She has been with LCC for six years working with a wide range of clients on a one-to-one basis. Jo works within an Integrative Counselling model, which means that she draws upon a number of different counselling and psychotherapy models and techniques. She sees clients in Letchworth and Welwyn and is also a trained Crisis Pregnancy Counsellor working with a local charity. Jo has recently trained with Cruse bereavement care.
Sally’s qualifications include the London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy, Post Graduate Certificate in Emotional Education, a Higher Certificate in Psychodynamic and Person Centred Counselling and a foundation in Person Centred Counselling. Sally is a member of the College of Sex and Relationship Therapists, (COSRT). She uses an integrative approach calling on the variety of learning experiences that she has had. She has a special interest in issues related to Attachment and Trauma. Sally worked with young adults with learning difficulties and/or behavioural problems for many years in an educational support role.
Lizzie is a qualified art psychotherapist, and has completed further training in systemic family practice.ﾠ She ﾠspecialises in work with children, young people and theirﾠ families with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties.
Lizzie ﾠis experienced in providing consultation, assessment and therapy in CAMHS, School and Private Practice settings. ﾠSessions are ﾠdevised according to need, and can be individual, parent-child, family, or group. Lizzie aims to increase clients’ emotional wellbeing, resilience and mental health, and help families and professionals better understand and manage these issues.
Lizzie also welcomes ﾠenquiries from adults who would ﾠlike to use art as a therapeutic tool and means of expression.
Lizzie is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and an activeﾠ member ﾠof the British Association of Art Therapists. She is a visiting lecturer on theﾠ University of ﾠHertfordshire’s Foundation and Masters Art Therapy courses. Lizzie ﾠis an approved clinical supervisor, and enjoys supervising other qualified and trainee art therapists.
Rosemary is a qualified and accredited Arts Psychotherapist and Cognitive Behaviour Therapist. She is trained to work with children, young people and adults. She has 15 years experience of working in the NHS mental health services and has also worked for local charities providing therapeutic support for children and young people.
Rosemary uses an integrative approach and is able to use her knowledge and experience to adapt the support she offers to best meet the needs of the individual. When working with children and young people, Rosemary is able to make use of a range of different creative activities and materials to help her clients explore and express their feelings in a warm, accepting and playful space.
Rosemary offers both short and long term support to children with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties and adults who are experiencing feelings of anxiety, depression and relationship problems.
Krystal Woodbridge is a qualified Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist. As an Accredited Member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), and a former Trustee of COSRT, she is bound by their Code of Ethics and Principles. She is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is on the Accredited Voluntary Register. Krystal is also a qualified nurse and is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the Royal College of Nursing (RCN). She has a broad experience of working with both individuals and couples of any sexual orientation to address their sexual and relationship difficulties, and is a Registered Therapist with Pink Therapy. Krystal is a former winner of the national COSRT post-graduate award for her work in the field of psychosexual therapy. Clients are encouraged to explore their sexual and relationship difficulties in a safe and confidential environment, which is facilitated by Krystal’s understanding and non-judgemental approach. Krystal was previously a regular columnist for Coach Magazine. Krystal is the COSRT Media Representative and manages the COSRT Media Team. Krystal also offers online counselling and Relationship Coaching.
Kathy Freeman - Practice Manager
Kathy spent her early professional life in mental health as an NHS administrator at Fairfield Hospital. For the past 15 years she has been working with the NHS and private health sectors as a PA to two local surgeons as well as supporting the clients and staff at LCC as their Practice Manager. Kathy brings with her an in-depth knowledge of different healthcare models and healthcare providers. A naturally warm and empathic person, Kathy has enormous skill at helping the client access the appropriate help they need.

Julie Sale - External Clinical Consultant
Julie is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, COSRT Accredited Psychosexual Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. She currently represents COSRT on the national Memorandum of Understanding on Conversion Therapy group, working towards establishing standards of education and practice in gender, sexual and relationship diversity in the health professions across the UK. Julie is Clinical Director of Contemporary Psychotherapy Services, which holds the NHS contract for the provision of psychosexual therapy in Hertfordshire and Director of the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology. She also runs a busy private practice in Letchworth Garden City. Originally a Founding Director of Local Counselling Centre, Julie now holds the role of External Clinical Consultant to the LCC team.
