How much does counselling at LCC cost?

At LCC, as well as face-to-face counselling, we are able to offer Skype/Video-chat counselling. Skype counselling is not suitable for all clients. Clients that may be particularly at risk are required to complete an in-depth assessment to assess suitability for this mode of therapy. Please note that only our qualified therapists deliver this service and it is not available as part of our low cost service provision.

Session rates with LCC Registered Therapists vary depending on their location, level of experience and specialism, and start from £55. Please contact us for more information.

Senior trainee counsellors and honorary counsellors who are working towards accreditation provide this service for general therapy themes. The counsellors offering sex and relationship therapy on the low cost service are either qualified counsellors or nurses who are taking a two-year specialist post graduate diploma in sex and relationship therapy.

The cost of the assessment session to enter this service is £40 for an individual and £50 for a couple.

The Low-Cost service is offered to people at reduced rates if they are experiencing hardship or are on a low income. To be eligible for the low-cost scheme clients’ household income must be below £50k.

The minimum fee for a low-cost counselling session is £15 for individuals and £20 for couples and the maximum is £40 for individuals and £50 for couples, calculated on a means tested basis of £1 per £1000 of annual household income.

Sex and relationship therapy is also available via LCC’s sister company CPS via the NHS. Ask your GP for a referral.
